Lead singer, Jacob Hoggard took time out of his mini-vacation in Las Vegas to talk about Hedley's upcoming show in the Hat on Sept.4 at the Cypress Centre.
Hoggard and his band mates, Tommy Mac on bass, Dave Rosin on guitar and Chris Crippin on drums have been sporadically playing festivals all summer long and Hoggard said, "it's probably the most exciting time of the year when you're not doing your own headlining tour and you're just going from place to place playing festivals. It's just a fun time every night... I'm really excited about September because it has the most holes in it to date. So it will be micro-vacation month."

Where there's smoke, there's Walter

I know this guy and for all intents and purposes, we'll call this guy Nick. Nick sees life a little differently than you and me. As an example, Nick is more than certain that a Bigfoot is roaming his farmland. Nick also believes that if you climbed a mountain, the temperature would rise because you're closer to the sun.
You can now understand the workings of Nick's noggin and after he once told me that if Deep Purple didn't write a song about 'fire, smoke and water', why then would they have all their fans promote the other title of 'Smoke on the Water' as 'Slow Walkin' Walter, the Firefighter Guy'?

The last time the Gorgon came through Medicine Hat, only one member of the all-girl power trio showed up: Lead vocalist and bassist Julia Ryckman.
For those fans who attended the show, the short set filled with Ryckman's eerie vocals and licks was still a treat — but this time the band is back in full force and playing with Calgary's indie/punk outfit, the Pine Tarts.
"We're coming back and we are so excited," said Ryckman. "The last time, we all felt so positive and we were all so excited ... then Jen broke her finger and we wondered, 'how did this happen?'"
